A long overdue HOʻOMAIKAʻI to Emma Rose Layaoen of Mililani Mauka Elementary, our 2013 Kōnane Tournament winner!

On Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the PAʻI Kakaʻako Art & Music Festival, we had a kōnane tournament to all haumāna ages 18 and younger.  Throughout the day, the keiki played until there was only one winner.  Mahalo to all the haumāna who participated in the kōnane tournament, and mahalo to the schools who signed their haumāna up for the tournament: Hālau Kū Mana Charter School, Ka Waihona o ka Naʻauao Charter School, and Mililani Mauka Elementary School.  As a mahalo, each school got to take a kōnane board with them so that their haumāna can practice for next year (courtesy of OHA).

We would like to send a big MAHALO to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) for donating the kōnane boards that the schools got to take back with them! We are certain that the keiki will have a tremendous amount of fun with those kōnane boards.

Stay tuned for more details for our next kōnane tournament!
