We would like to send a big MAHALO to National Performance Network, Ford Foundation, and Asian Arts Initiative for allowing our Executive Director, Artistic Director, Office Manager, and Project Director a chance to share our culture through hula with those in Philadelphia!
Our PAʻI Foundation staff just got back from an amazing time in Philadelphia where they were able to share the hula and the Hawaiian culture. They were involved in a lūʻau for the University of Pennsylvania’s Hawaiʻi Club, a hula workshop for makua and keiki, a lecture/dem for a Bilingual Catholic School, and a performance where Jeffrey (Artistic Director of PAʻI and Kumu Hula of Pua Aliʻi ʻIlima) was able to share his new works, which were created under the NPN New Works Grant.
Again, a big mahalo to our grantors, and our cohort partner, AAI. To Gail and the staff at AAI, MAHALO NUI LOA for being such wonderful hosts! We hope to see you all again soon. Aloha.
